![]() Trojans Build Big Lead, Hold On to Beat RamsPosted: 12/18/2009 - by Jim Field Four straight free throws by freshman Dalton Franken let Atlantic fans breathe easier as the Trojans secured a 58-48 win over Glenwood Thursday night. It seemed the game was in the bag until Glenwood went on a 17-1 run late to trim a 53-31 Atlantic lead to 54-48 with less than a minute to go. The Trojans used an 18-5 second quarter to build a 27-12 half time lead. Taylor Petersen scored 13 of his 18 points in the first half to spark AHS. While the Rams were holding Chet Meneely to just two points, Jordan Holmes picked up the slack, scoring 14 of his 18 points in the second half. Franken finished with eight points, Kellan Benn had seven and Jonathan Olsen came off the bench with five points. Atlantic was just two of eight from the free throw line in the fouth quarter as Glenwood rallied before Franken made his last four. Atlantic improves to 2-3 overall and 1-3 in the Hawkeye 10 conference.
