![]() Tigers Too Much For TrojannsPosted: 12/01/2009 - by Jim FieldAtlantic suffered their first loss of the girls basketball season Monday night 66-53 at Carroll. The Tigers were led by six-foot-one freshman Brittany Holdsworth who came off the bench with a game high 20 points. The Trojanns jumped out to a 6-0 lead but then watched as Holdsworth entered the game and helped the Tigers score the next 14 straight points. They never trailed again. Atlantic battled back in the fourth quarter. After falling behind 52-31, they went on a 20-7 run to close the gap to eight points with about a minute and a half remaining but could get no closer. Paige Kennon led the way with 17 points for Atlantic, Taylor Young scored 15 and Elizabth Honke added eleven. Also, Jessi Arneson scored six, Morgan Allen had three and Jessica Hawkins one point. The Trojanns are now 1-1 on the season. The Atlantic JV beat Carroll 44-30 with Liz Guttenfelder leading the team with 16 points. See pictures in our photo gallery! -ARCHIVES- |
