![]() Trojans Ground Bluejays in OpenerPosted: 12/02/2009 - by Jim FieldAtlantic used a 33-18 second half advantage to beat Perry 70-48 in the boys basketball season opener Tuesday night in Atlantic. The Trojans led 22-20 at the quarter break and were up 37-30 at halftime. The Bluejays hung around and were within four until Taylor Petersen hit a 35-foot bank shot as the third quarter buzzer sounded to give AHS a 49-42 lead. Atlantic outscored Perry 21-6 in the fourth. Four Trojans hit double figures, with Petersen leading the way with 19 points, Chet Meneely scored 16, Jordan Holmes had 12 and Kellan Benn chipped in 10. Freshman Dalton Franken came off the bench to score nine on a trio of three pointers. The JV team also beat Perry 43-31 as Dalton Franken scored a team high 11 points and Phillip Iekel and Chris McVey each had seven points.
